Lakota in America tells the story of Genevieve Iron Lightning, a teen Lakota dancer who found community with the Cheyenne River Youth Project after running away from an abusive family situation. Through after-school programs, early job training, and cultural activities, CRYP is dedicated to nurturing the Lakota youth into prosperity while upholding their Native American heritage.
This film is the third in the "For Every Dream" series developed with Square — a series that explores America through the lens of small business in unexpected communities.
